NJ GUN PERMITTING A HORROR STORY W/O A MOVIE!
NICS NJ PORTAL A GARDEN HOSE ON A HOUSE FIRE!

by Nick Wong for Black Wire Media Thur. July 23, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

Obtaining a firearm in NJ the legal way is wrought with delay.

New Jersey residents that are seeking to obtain a Firearms ID (FID) or a Permit to Purchase a Handgun (P2P) have been experiencing an extraordinary delay. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as rioting and calls to defund the Police, many people have become concerned with keeping themselves and their family safe. NJ FID’s and P2P’s are supposed to take a maximum of 30 days to be approved, however, even with the change to the new NJ FARS (Firearms Application & Registration System), applications are taking much longer than the mandated 30 day time period.

With the NJ FARS system, the state-run background check took exactly 30 days, after which the whole application gets sent to your local Police Department (or closest NJ State Police Barracks) for further investigation. We contacted our local Police Department a week after the NJ FARS Background check was completed, and were told that there are 8 additional checks that have to be done (Juvenile records, Domestic Violence, Family Court, and more). The Police Dept. representative also stated that they received a year’s worth of FID/PP Applications in the past few months, and other police departments have confirmed the same in their own townships.

As of today, the time waiting for the author’s submitted application to be cleared through the system is over 50 days.

To add additional fuel to the fire, the redundant NJ NICS Checks AT POINT OF SALE (your FFL's gun counter) are taking an extra period of 5-7 business days, apparently due to a “significant increase in requests” as per the NJ NICS website. So – once your 50+ day waiting period is over, you still have to wait an extra week to take possession of your firearm AFTER you've purchased it – that’s coming up on over 2 months of a waiting period!

"If I'm NOT a first-time gun buyer, and I've been collecting & shooting for YEARS, is it conceivable I would commit a felony with a firearm I'm just buying and waiting MONTHS to REGISTER & possess? Making someone like me undergo a background check (and thereby clog the NICS portal further by increasing the backlog) should STOP with transfer number xxx" ---Dave Rosenthal, Shootist

The sheer amount of redundancy required to obtain a Firearms ID and purchase a firearm the legal way is causing an undue amount of burden on the residents of New Jersey. This is especially concerning due to the reports that (illegal) gun violence is on the rise here in NJ and nearby New York City. Shooting deaths in NJ have risen 19%, however the numbers have not been released on how many of these are suicides. Governor Phil Murphy stated in a recent press conference that “We are probably as good a shape in terms of gun safety as any American state, it just goes to show you it’s still out there.” Does this not mean that overly redundant checks as well as the antiquated, overburdened and un-scalable NJ Firearms ID system is completely unnecessary?

FORDHAM U. PUNISHES STUDENT FOR GUN PIC ON 'GRAM!
SCOTUS FAILURE ON (10) 2A CASES EMPOWERS THE ABUSE!

by Black Wire Media Editor in-Chief David "Rosey" Rosenthal
    Thur. July 23, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

Inaction has consequences! Failure of SCOTUS to respond to obvious pleas for RELIEF from bad gun law in all ten cases brought before it recently has undoubtedly brought about the tyrannical abuse of Chinese immigrant Austin Tong. One doesn't have to look far to see the big picture thinking here. No this isn't a "stretch", it's how POO happens INCREMENTALLY! Fordham's empowerment is courtesy of Chief Justice John Roberts and his weeble-wobbling on all things 2nd Amendment. Had the highest Court in the land decided to hear the Rogers and/or Cheeseman cases, a profound signal (a shot-across-the-bow) would have castrated some of this abuse. Read on.

Refusing the forced political reeducation plan from the once great school of learning has cost this proud AR-15 picture-posing, semi-auto gun owning, Nassau County, NY resident to be treated the same as a sexual predator. Banned from campus unless he has an approved pass (with 24 hours notice) from the Dean, Tong is a VICTIM of a midnight raid by the current-day Stasi (Secret Police) sent by the school's administration. Instead of caving under pressure, our proud NRA member, remembering the Tiananmen Square Massacre, which took place June 4th, 1989, refused to comply. Put bluntly, Fordham University grabbed a Tong by his tail and they're GETTIN' STUNG thanks to NRA-ILA!

It wasn't that long ago that Fordham was, should we say, slightly more openminded about gun ownership and gun use by its student body:

"I am a former Fordham College Republicans officer. FCRH led to me going to the work for the RNC. I wrote an article celebrating the end of the Assault Weapons Ban in the student newspaper. Had a picture of me as my profile picture with my competition Mauser on FB. My chapter also went shooting at Westside Rifle and Pistol and had a rally for campus concealed carry. I had the same College President, security director and Dean of students who punished this man. I cannot believe the change." ---Mr. Farkis, CNJFO supporter & 2A advocate

Where do we go from here? Obviously we get off our collective arses and FIGHT INCREMENTALISM wherever its ugly head pops-up.

    EDITOR's NOTE:

Rosenthal is a cranky old "Shootist" that's tired of the game the other side has gotten away with. With live-fire experience on all popular platforms and over 48 years behind the trigger, he's seen the INCREMENTALISM he speaks of, and has been on the lecture circuit calling it out. CNJFO didn't break this story...Finding an Alumni from Fordham to speak out is something no other agency or blogger has been able to accomplish (that we know of). Providing unique insight like a true newsman, all he asks for in return is for readers to SHARE this perspective with a COPY & PASTE and watch the video.

GUN OWNERSHIP IS ALL THAT'S SAVING US NOW!
SCOTUS BLINKED ON 2A & AMERICA ARMED ITSELF!

Op-Ed by Theresa Inacker for Black Wire Media Wed. July 22, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

We’ve warned that if you don’t respect the 2nd Amendment, the rest will fall. Now you see the First being abused as certain political messages can be painted on streets (approved by governments), but not others. Certain assemblies can be formed, but not others. The 14th Amendment is being abused when the St. Louis couple is charged with a felony, but arson (a felony) is ignored when committed by those with certain political affiliations. We warned you and BOOM! It’s happening! Not so paranoid, after all. You call us paranoid, and I call you out for lack of vision!

    EDITOR's NOTE:

As an attorney admitted to practice law before the highest Court in the Land, Inacker has studied the cause & effect relationships that impact both Supreme Court decisions and our everyday lives. As the NJ Delegate & Director of The DC Project she leads a teal-shirted army of powerful & independent women that fight for gun rights for ALL. We could not want a better Communications Director for CNJFO. We hope you feel the same. Please SHARE this while you still can!

NEW GUN OWNERS HAVE THE "1,000 YARD STARE"!
    NJ's 100K 1ST TIMERS..A SALESMAN'S PERSPECTIVE!

by Hugh Kearney for Black Wire Media Tues. July 21, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

The climate today has brought out a whole new gun buyer. I wish more people could have gotten educated sooner on the Second Amendment and the outlandish laws that we have here. Those who know me, know I take this very seriously. It took a pandemic and civil unrest for all these closeted gun buyers to show themselves. I can see it in their faces; the unrest of buying a firearm. let alone the handling of one, or the realization of shooting one.

"As we try to do our best as gun salesmen to educate first-time gun buyers in the 5 or 10 minutes we have at the counter, we NJ Pink Card holders (those background-checked to sell guns from behind the gun store counters of NJ) often get the "1,000 Yard Stare". ---Hugh Kearney, Pink Card Holder

We try to fit them with a firearm that works FOR THEM. It is obviously painful that they don't get it. But, it is their right to purchase. I always tell them, "whatever you spend on that firearm, spend double on training". Now as a trainer, I know most people get educated to some extent, but they think it's a one time deal. When you get to explain moving and shooting, rhythm, and defensive shooting, you get the blank stare AGAIN. But a least some, if not most get the importance of education. And I don't care where they go, just get educated.

Another important fact; don't listen to that boyfriend, girlfriend, or family member who shoots. Because they'll be all about the biggest & baddest firearm to own. Trouble is if it doesn't fit, it wont work (I got stories)! Another thing this pandemic & unrest has produced is the lack of firearms and ammo (that's another whole issue). If I had more time to write I would but work gets in the way. Everyone be safe out there and get educated, and get TRAINED!

    EDITOR's NOTE:

CNJFO supporter Hugh Kearney is a New Jersey firearms salesperson. Those in the industry refer to these folks as "Pink Card Holders" because their license to sell retail firearms is printed on a pink card and displayed at the FFL's they work at. Kearney is a certified firearms trainer, and has an extensive shooting background. He enjoys all things tactical, USPSA "running & gunning" matches, and is a member at Monmouth Co. Rifle & Pistol Club. Hugh has decades of experience on all three popular platforms. We hope you enjoy his writing "from-the-heart" as much as we did editing it.

NJ GOV. BLAMES CRIME UPTICK ON NEW GUN OWNERS!
WELCOME TO THE PARTY, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!

by Theresa Inacker for Black Wire Media Mon. July 20, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

As a new gun owner, you probably cannot believe that New Jersey Governor Murphy and Democrats in the Legislature would conflate crime and gang violence with YOU and 106,000 additional new gun owners in New Jersey. Believe it. He's already trying to "sell" it! Even for a vengeance killing or a professional hit on a Judge's family (could be either, right Mr. FedEx?)!

Lawful, constitutional gun owners are always conflated with criminals, gang members and especially, mass school murderers. No matter what current or future gun laws you comply with, it will never be enough. It will always be YOUR FAULT! You will always be on the defense.

This is why we at the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners say "Welcome to the Party!" This is why we must stick together, now more than ever before! THIS is why you need to JOIN NJ's busiest 2A organization, CNJFO!

Democrats in New Jersey use criminal and gang activity on the street as an excuse to break the backs of the good guys. Gun-grabbers rely on lies and misinformation to make their case. Make no mistake, lawful gun owners in New Jersey have been enemy number one of Democrats and the Coronavirus pandemic isn’t going to stop them.

This is why it is imperative that you become engaged in Second Amendment issues and groups in this State. It is imperative that you vote like your life depends on it, because decisions will be made that directly affect your ability to defend yourself and your family.

LISTEN UP NEW GUN OWNERS! HERE'S THE FACTS!:

Last week, New Jersey’s Governor Murphy said he was concerned about a sharp increase in shooting deaths amid the Coronavirus lockdown. You may not realize this, but this is the opening salvo alluding to incoming gun control measures in 3…2…1. You’re asking yourself, how is that possible? You just applied for your New Jersey Firearms Identification card, with criminal and mental health background checks, fingerprints, fees, you waited much longer than the 30 days the law gives your Police Department to process it, you waited in lines at the local gun shop only to find slim inventory. You were subject to a point of sale NICS check. And if you are purchasing a handgun, you obtained an extra permit called a Permit to Purchase a Handgun and submitted to the NICS check and subject to the “one gun a month” purchase limitation. And now Governor Phil Murphy is contemplating MORE gun control? Yes! They never stop thinking about ways to infringe.

YOU ARE PART OF A NEW WAVE OF GUN OWNERS!

Here's what the Gun Grabbers are worried about:
In 2019, the New Jersey Firearms Investigation Unit saw 54,414 applications. As of June 2020, they have seen an astounding 106,000, with six more months to go! (For further discussion, see The Gun For Hire Podcast, Episode 478. https://gunforhire.com/…/the-gun-for-hire-radio-broadcast…/…)

Be assured, anti-rights politicians are looking at these new numbers and panicking. Double the number of new gunowners over last year? They cannot have it! You are a THREAT to their false gun control narrative! You are a threat to their ultimate goal of civilian disarmament.

Governor Murphy and the usual gun-grabbing Democrats in the New Jersey Legislature will be contriving new ways to infringe on your rights. We will also see the rehashing of old gun control bills like the Smart Gun requirement, and undoubtedly, new and novel ways to create state-assured victimhood.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...Info Newbies need to KNOW!:

You may not have been paying attention, but in 2018, Murphy signed into the law, the 10-round magazine limitation law. That meant that those of us who already lawfully possessed 15 round magazines, even for firearms purchased with permits issued by the State, were unconstitutionally dispossessed of those magazines. Just because you have followed all of the rules, passed all the tests, and did everything right does not mean you get to keep what you spent your hard-earned money on, and what the rest of the country can possess. It is entirely possible, and even likely, that further gun control measures will take from you what you just purchased. Although litigation has been pending, challenging the magazine limit, the courts have not been friendly to Second Amendment as of late, so relief may not be coming soon.

    EDITOR's NOTE:

Theresa Inacker is our Communications Director. She is responsible for keeping us "on-message" and does her best work with "a bee in her bonnet", meaning when she gets P.O.'d as attacks are inflicted onto our 2nd Amendment rights. Inacker is a former Editor of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal and able to practice at The U.S. Supreme Court. We hope you appreciate her candor and enjoy this piece!

MEDIA BIAS w/ TOY GUNZ CALLED-OUT BY JOHN PETROLINO!
BLACK WIRE MEDIA STAFFER ON THE NJ MSM STATUS-QUO!

by Black Wire Media Mon. July 20, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

The mainstream media simply can't help itself. Tripping over each other to imply that a BB or airsoft pistol are "deadly weapons" aids the state of New Jersey in its rationale to make them illegal (in certain circumstances---like kids shooting tin cans in their own backyards), sinful, and dangerous enough to be regulated. BB pistols require the same hand gun permit as a Glock here in the Communist People's Republic of New Jerseystan, and media bias is attempting even more fun-crushing regulations. Reporting such as what the Morristown Patch is accused of in this yet unexplained & unfolding incident is deplorable to NJ gun owners, who by and large, are more responsible with toy guns than residents in 49 other states.

"Is the Attorney General or the writer of this (Patch) article trying to imply or insinuate that people subscribe to further hoplophobia? Subtly hinting that BB guns are super dangerous? This clearly seems part of the continued agenda in New Jersey to push anti-gun views and policies. It certainly reflects the hubris of NJ’s AG and general ignorance of anything firearms related with members of New Jersey’s press". - John Petrolino, Black Wire Media Staff Writer & author of "Decoding Firearms, An Easy to Read Guide on General Gun Safety & Use"

A CALL TO ARMS IS A CALL TO JOIN 2A GROUPS RIGHT NOW!

by Black Wire Media Sun. July 19, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

The numbers don't lie and our NJ Governor is already tipping his hand to blame guns and push more gun control in the next legislative session! With a 100% INCREASE in GUN SALES from the same time last year, guns on shelves getting scarce as hen's teeth, NJ residents waiting months for their "permission slips", a backlogged & broken NJ NICS portal, and the entire gun buying & using process fornicated with by Governor Murphy, leads us to believe there's a LOT of Newbies out there that need introduced to the 2nd Amendment! NJ HUNTER ED LIVE-FIRE REGISTRATION OPENS SOON!
TAKE THE FREE 100 QUESTION TEST ONLINE ASAP!

by Black Wire Media Fri. July 17, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

CNJFO is proud to partner with New Jersey Fish & Wildlife to bring you the latest update regarding new procedures for obtaining a hunting license (shotgun AND bow) which must be followed due to new protocols recently devised. NJF&W Live-Fire testing begins in August, and you must bring your ONLINE course completion certificate with you (see directions below). We do this as a community service for our members and readership because we realize that youth are the future of gun ownership.

Firearms IN THE HOME for any legitimate reason "normalizes" their ownership, possession, and usage in our modern society, and teaches our youth basic handling and safety, something the schools refuse to do because the whiny red-shirted Karen's of Mom's Demand would have a conniption if they tried! While it's true that the 2nd Amendment was never meant to be about hunting, as 2A crusaders for justice we fully support firearms safety education and all legal possession, usage, transportation & ownership of all things that go BANG! The more firearms in NJ homes, the more "normal" it is to HAVE THEM!

The Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners holds multiple Hog Hunts, as well as our annual Pheasant Hunt fundraisers as a form of community outreach. We get to show the public that many #2AHeavyLifters also hunt and the public gets a healthy dose of 2A activism as we harvest our fine specimens afield TOGETHER. To our knowledge, CNJFO is the only 2nd Amendment organization in New Jersey with such a unique outreach program. We'll have dates for our fall and winter Hunts posted as the events are scheduled with our outfitters.

The following is from NJF&W's Facebook page:

"Hunter education staff have finalized a plan to offer FREE classes before the fall hunting seasons while following all safety protocols and ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers and students.

    At this time:
    • All hunter education students MUST complete the HunterCourse.com online hunter education program, which is now FREE for New Jersey residents! The online course covers both disciplines (Firearm and Bow) and includes the required 100-question test. Students must bring their completion certificate to the live-fire portion. The at-home Study Guide/Workbook WILL NOT be accepted during the fall hunter education classes.
    • Upon completion of the online program, students must register for a specific date and time to take their live-fire test at one of the classes listed here: NJ Hunters Ed Registration. Registration for the live-fire sessions will open in late July with sessions beginning in August.
    • Registration must be completed for each discipline (Firearm and/or Bow) separately. If taking both Firearm and Bow live-fire tests, you must register for different times to take each test.
    • Students will be required to wear and provide their own masks and safety glasses.
    • Walk-in students WILL NOT be accepted during these classes."

CLOSE NJ NICS PORTAL SAYS OROHO, SPACE, WIRTHS!
CNJFO LETTER DRAWS BILL LIST & IDEAS FROM LD-24!

by Black Wire Media Wed. July 15, 2020 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

BREAKING NEWS!! Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblyman Parker Space and Assemblyman Hal Wirths have written to Colonel Patrick Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, in response to CNJFO's letter about systemic infringements in the New Jersey firearms permitting process. The Legislators from District 24 (Sussex, Warren, Morris) are calling for elimination of the New Jersey NICS portal, printing of firearms permits at State Police barracks for gun owners served by them, and for multiple other streamlining measures including a closer working relationship with legislators that are gun owners.

"We are grateful for their quick response and tireless advocacy for Second Amendment rights in New Jersey" ---Theresa Inacker, CNJFO Communications Director

In an email to CNJFO this afternoon, the District 24 representatives said the following:

“We agree with you that New Jersey’s gun laws are too burdensome and were deliberately created as such to deny law-abiding residents a means to protect themselves and their Second Amendment Rights. Please see the attached letter we sent to the Superintendent of State Police outlining many of the concerns you addressed to us".

In the other matters addressed in your letter, we support shall-issue concealed carry:

A2904 Revises procedures for securing permit to carry handgun.

    Space, Parker as Primary Sponsor
    DiMaio, John as Primary Sponsor
Rooney, Kevin J. as Primary Sponsor
    Wirths, Harold J. as Co-Sponsor

2/20/2020 Introduced, Referred to Assembly Judiciary Committee

A4053 Requires State to recognize permits to carry handguns issued to certain New Jersey residents by other states.

    Space, Parker as Primary Sponsor

5/7/2020 Introduced, Referred to Assembly Judiciary Committee

The concealed carry bills are being drafted for introduction in the Senate.

Concerning the Carol Bowne case, we are supportive of giving priority to firearms permits to victims of domestic violence:

A555 Gives priority to applicants for firearms purchaser identification card and permits to purchase handguns when domestic violence restraining order is in effect.

    Auth, Robert as Primary Sponsor
    Space, Parker as Co-Sponsor
    Wirths, Harold J. as Co-Sponsor

1/14/2020 Introduced, Referred to Assembly Judiciary Committee

The Senate version is being drafted.

More specifically regarding qualified immunity and other police reforms; we do know that Democrats in the legislature are planning these types of legislation. We do not know when they are going to have hearings on specific bills as of yet. Obviously we will keep monitor these bills as we always do.

Finally, still on the issue of FID’s, this bill from last session will be re-introduced this year:

A2228 Authorizes issuance of duplicate firearms purchaser identification cards for change of address with certain proof. (From 2018-19 legislative session, it will be given a new bill number)

Dancer, Ronald S. as Primary Sponsor
    Webber, Jay as Primary Sponsor
    Space, Parker as Primary Sponsor
    Wirths, Harold J. as Co-Sponsor

Thank you again for contacting us and we want to continue to work together for the benefit of our individual right to keep and bear arms.

    Senator Steve Oroho

    Assemblyman Parker Space

    Assemblyman Hal Wirths
