UPDATE: NICS RUSH CONTINUES, NO END IN SIGHT!  NJ PORTAL STILL A 4-5 DAY QUAGMIRE OF WAITING!

As we gear up for a Holiday Weekend, NJ NICS continues to be backlogged by an overwhelming number of "Instant" Background Check requests, but does that mean they will be working on Labor Day in an effort to reduce the log jam? Most certainly NOT.

While small business would recognize their commitment to their customers, and would "do what needs to get done" in order to satisfy, we humble peon tax payers are at the mercy of our elected masters who deign to allow us to exercise our rights after waiting the prescribed amount of time, plus more, and paying our prescribed fees, plus more, and then delay us even further, at their whim.

When will it end? Likely not until Der Commissar is removed from Der Trenton. Even then, the legislature will remain FIRMLY anti-self protection and pro-bail reform (read pro-criminal). There is no relief in the legislature, there is no relief in the courts, and there is no relief in voting for "someone different" because they all have the same stripes.

We certainly understand the feeling that the only hope left is for an exit from "what exit" to greener pastures, which today means anywhere with less taxes, which translates to something like 49 other states and 14 territories. However, CNJFO is in this for the long haul. Our rights were removed slowly, using a Deli analogy, like thin shaved Genoa Salami, we must therefore demand that they are returned like thick sliced Liverwurst! We are tired of having our Second Amendment rights being treated as Second Class. We demand Equality for ALL Civil Rights!

(Paul Harvey Voice) Good Day!

EDITOR's NOTE:

CNJFO President Dan Grdovic is frustrated with an over-worked, paper-pushed ANTIQUE background check system from the 1960's. Aren't we ALL? What IF each State Police Barracks had a printer that could push-out the gun buying forms and credentials? What IF the powers that be would WAKE-UP and realize that maybe gun collectors (that have been through more than a dozen background checks) don't need a 15th hand gun to go on a crime spree, they can use the OTHER 14 they already got CHECKED for?

"COGS IN THE WHEEL"...WHY aren't ANY of the people responsible for delivering the means by which to obtain a constitutionally protected RIGHT saying to themselves, "With such a BACKLOG maybe the 16th handgun's paperwork can be processed more like a dog license"?

16 no good for you? Less? More? Make up you're damn mind and get on MY page damn you! Time for us "Gun Peasants" to BE HEARD! Pick a number YOU'RE comfortable with and ask YOUR elected Assembly & Senators "WHY"! Not every gun buyer is a "First Timer". Maybe it's long past time to recognize THAT? "The SYSTEM" could certainly use a break!
