Donald Trump recently met with Chris Cox, Executive Director of NRA-ILA, for a one-on-one interview. During the interview, published in the October 2016 edition of American Rifleman magazine, Trump references New Jersey resident Carol Bowne while discussing the right to self-defense and how overly burdensome gun control laws actually cost lives.
"Every time a law-abiding citizen has their right to defend themselves taken away, they are put at risk. That terrible tragedy in New Jersey -Carol Bowne, who was killed in her own driveway while waiting for a gun permit - is a tragic example of how gun control costs lives."
Bowne, you may recall, was the Berlin Township woman who was murdered by an ex-boyfriend in her driveway in June, 2015. She had applied for her FPID with the intention of purchasing a handgun for protection but she was murdered 42 days later, 12 days past the statutory deadline and just 2 days after she had contacted the Berlin Township Police to inquire on the status of her application. The outcome of the election in November is critical. The next President will likely appoint 3 or 4 Supreme Court Justices, appointments that will influence the Court for decades. There is too much at stake to just sit this one out. If you have not yet registered to vote you still have time but time is running out. In New Jersey, you must be registered 21 days before the election. You can get all the info here. Voter Registration Info
