|Happy Independence Day!!!
This year, 2016, marks the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence by 56 brave patriots who literally risked life and limb in doing so. An act of treason against the Crown was a crime punishable by death, yet these brave men were willing to put their lives at risk for their belief that all men are created equal and possess the unalienable rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These men also believed that governments are founded to secure and protect these rights, not to grant them, "...deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
The belief in fundamental human rights that Jefferson immortalized in the Declaration of Independence was also an important element of the United States Constitution that was ratified thirteen years later in 1789. So important were these fundamental, unalienable and pre-political rights to the Framers that they were added to the Constitution, prior to ratification, as The Bill of Rights.
In recent months we have seen these rights come under increasing attack. Not content with the almost constant assault on our 2nd Amendment rights, the Progressives have upped the ante and expanded their assault to include the 1st, 4th and 5th Amendments, a Democrat Senator has even claimed that "due process is killing us." Just this past week here in New Jersey we witnessed just how far the Progressives will go to silence anyone that dares to oppose or disagree with their agenda when Alexander Roubian, President of NJ2AS, was assaulted and forcibly ejected from a "community round table" discussion hosted by Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman.
We, as a community, can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines and wait for someone to help us...we need to take the initiative and fight for our rights. That fight starts with you. CNJFO is in the fight for the duration and we can use your continued help and support. Volunteers are currently needed to staff several committees, if you can spare a few hours a month to defend your rights we would love to have you on board.

Who the heck is this "Charlie" anyway?
By now you have probably seen this character lurking around on Facebook and wondered who the heck is this Charlie guy and what does he have to do with CNJFO? Well, simply put, Charlie is Justifiable Need personified. You see Charlie lives among us in every town, city and county in New Jersey. Charlie takes comfort in the fact that he can victimize just about anyone he sees, at any time and place, knowing that they have been rendered defenseless by New Jersey's draconian gun laws, laws that deny you the right to defend yourself from "Charlie" once you leave your home or place of business.
Charlie laughs at our laws and the people that claim they make New Jersey safer. Charlie carries his gun every day yet he has never had a background check, never applied for a Firearm Purchase ID Card, never applied for a Permit to Purchase a Handgun, in fact Charlie bought his gun at a crack house in Newark.
Charlie is, literally, the poster boy for the Justifiable Need billboard campaign scheduled to launch the week of July 4. We could really use your help to keep Charlie in the public eye, the more people that see our message the larger our community grows and the louder our collective voice becomes. Please consider making a donation to the billboard fund...every dollar counts and any amount is greatly appreciated.
