Happy Birthday CNJFO

It’s hard to believe that a little more than a year ago, on a snowy January afternoon, several members of the Board of Trustees were sitting around a table discussing an idea for a new organization. As we spoke, we started to put a plan into action. On May 14th, 2015, the founding Board of Trustees signed the Articles of Incorporation and filed as a New Jersey Non-Profit organization, giving life to the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners (CNJFO).

CNJFO debuted at the New Jersey SAFE Conference in October of 2015. Since our launch, CNJFO has filed for and has been officially recognized as an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

Over the Over the past several months, CNJFO has held several social outings including: a bowling night at Boonton Lanes, a pheasant hunt, and a hog hunt. We are

currently planning our latest social events: a day of Sporting Clays at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, a chartered fishing trip, and our first annual family BBQ.

There are many volunteer opportunities available for those who wish to lend a helping hand, or to be a part of one of the committees that are now being formed.

On the activism front, CNJFO is currently soliciting bids to roll out our first “Justifiable Need” billboard to educate the citizens of New Jersey on how they are being deprived of their right to self defense. We have appeared on the Bear Arms Show podcast, Gun For Hire Radio and a Fairleigh Dickinson University public forum. CNJFO also exhibited at Wounded Warrior Weekend at CJRPC and the Garden State Outdoor Sports Show. As we grow, we will be introducing firearm safety seminars to the public. We are always looking for volunteers to help us with some of the projects that we have planned or to man a booth at a show.

Our inaugural year has been a busy one but it could not have been successful without your support. We hope that we can count on your continued support and we look forward to having many of you join us and volunteer for one of the available committee assignments.

We look forward to continuing this journey with you for many years, and to ultimate victory. Please take a moment to register on the website to get full access to your member information account and to stay up-to-date on event announcements and updates.

CNJFO Goes Wild Apricot

You may have noticed a new look to our web site, cnjfo.com.  CNJFO has officially adopted a new membership software system. The new software, Wild Apricot, provides new web site management tools, additional data security, more member interaction, event registration, membership account self service functionality and donation tracking, as well as member forums and the "Black Wire Blog."

A new Member Only section contains the organization's charter and by-laws, as well as the monthly financial statements. It is our goal to provide complete transparency to our members so that they can see for themselves how their dues and donations are being spent. In the future we will be hosting an updated apparel store, links to members only discounts and benefits, and links to our sponsors.

Black Powder Matters

CNJFO is happy to partner with Black Bag Resources, LLC and Simon Says Train to present "Black Powder Matters," a unique black powder training clinic instructed by the first ever US NRA Double Distinguished Expert in Muzzle Loading, Mr. David "Rosey" Rosenthal.

The price of the event includes all range fees, a light lunch, and the necessary ammunition components. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own black powder firearms and accessories as well.
